The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

The conference of The New European Bauhaus will take place on 22 and 23 April. ERRIN is pleased to share its input to the largest public consultation on the past, present and future of the Horizon programmes 2014-2027. The document is structured around four main areas based on the network’s priorities: EU Missions, European Partnerships, widening, and ecosystem approach.
ERRIN aims to provide support to its members in developing successful proposals under the EU Missions of the Horizon Europe 2023-2024 work programme. ERRIN designed a brief survey with the upcoming EU Missions calls that may be of interest to regional and local stakeholders. Express your interest by 22 March.
Based on the principles of peer learning, replicability of practices and co-creation methodology, this webinar series aims to encourage a comprehensive understanding of circular and sustainable cultural tourism practices. A mix of on-the-ground experiences and expertise will guide participants on innovative practices and show how to apply them context-specifically.
On 16 January, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) published a call to support and help to foster the New European Bauhaus transformations. It targets European startups or scale-ups developing innovative solutions with deliberate consideration given to the NEB values. Successful applicants will be welcomed in the EIT Community NEB acceleration program that will be tailored to each company. The deadline for application is 13 March.
Two calls, one on Town Twinning and another on Networks of Towns, will open later this year. There will be an info day for each, om June and March respectively. Both calls aim to promote exchanges between citizens of different countries, to give them practical experience of the wealth and diversity of the common heritage of the Union and to make them aware that these constitute the foundation for a common future.
With the European Heritage Stories, communities across the continent are invited to share their special stories about Europe’s cultural heritage. All of the stories that meet the eligibility criteria will be published as European Heritage Days Stories, promoted at European level, and receive a grant of up to €10,000. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2023.

Due to changes in the leadership, the Design and Creativity Working Group leaders: Anna Spechtenhauser from Stuttgart Region and Giulia Chiarel from Bolzano/South Tyrol are looking for an additional leader.
Central Scotland, a pioneer region in the field of audience engagement via cultural heritage, will host a peer learning session focusing on regional policies for culture and cultural heritage. The peer learning sessions are part of the Cultural Heritage in Action project, in which ERRIN is a partner.
The Policy Department for Structural and Cohesion Policies in Commission's Directorate-General for Internal Policies has published a study on Cultural and creative sectors in post-COVID-19 Europe: crisis effects and policy recommendations.
Every year ERRIN defines workstreams to guide its work throughout the coming 12 months, closely linking to its core missions and indicating the crucial interests towards the EU R&I agenda.
