S3 Strategy

The new S3 of Galicia for the period addresses the current challenges we face: socioeconomic, climatic and demographic. The strategy has been designed through an Entrepreneurial Discovery Process and has taken into account the quadruple helix. The main objective of this RIS3 is to transform the region improving its research and innovation capacities. It also aims at the take-up of more advanced technologies and at increasing the capacity building of SMEs. For the period 2021-2027 Galicia identifies three big priorities and 24 intervention areas. The priorities are Natural and cultural resources, Healthy life and active ageing and, finally, Competitive knowledge-based industry. The participatory approach is key in this strategy and will continue during the whole period. Also, the work process will be built around the RIS3 Groups that are established in consideration of the main priorities and areas of intervention and that will work closely with the Galician Innovation Agency.
