Cultural Heritage & Tourism
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

ERRIN Spring AGM 2023
ERRIN's Spring Annual General Meeting will take place on 22 June from 14:30-17:45 CEST, followed by networking reception. This year the event will be held in-person, with online streaming available for members who aren’t based in Brussels.
NEB in Regions and Cities event
A two-day NEB in Regions and Cities event will take place on 21 and 22 June in Brussels. The event will serve as a forum for learning and exchange among people, institutions, municipalities, and regions who are implementing or have an interest in developing NEB projects on the ground.
EIT Culture & Creativity Moonshot Event
The EIT Culture & Creativity’s Moonshot event, introduced by EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, provides an opportunity to establish a long-term and ambitious shared goal for the competitiveness of European CCSIs and their critical role in the future of Europe.

Culture and Mental Health: Practices and Policies
The Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union, Culture Action Europe and RED NOSES International are hosting an event as part of the current EU projects “Culture for Health” and “Clowning Connects Us” titled: Culture and Mental Health - Practices and Policies. Through examples from the field and a panel discussion with decision-makers, the event offers the opportunity to discuss how we can make better use of and systematically include cultural approaches in our health and social care systems.

Direction FP10 – rolling out ERRIN's activities in 2024

New Booklet on driving a green, digital & innovative European cultural heritage
In December, the European Research Executive Agency published a booklet gathering short descriptions of the projects selected for funding under the Horizon Europe Cluster 2 calls under the Destination ‘Innovative Research on European Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries – Building Our Future From the Past’.
The European Heritage Hub project is looking for good practices
The European Heritage Hub is collecting good practices to share throughout Europe and beyond! Administrations of a city or region are asked to submit highlights of their work in heritage in the context of the ‘triple transformation ’ – green, digital and social – of our society. Ten practices will be selected for publication and promotion through the European Heritage Hub. Cities whose good practices are selected also get the opportunity to host a peer learning visit with a delegation of 20 participants funded by the project (3 peer learning visits will take place between Q2 2024 and Q1 2025).

Euroclusters call for proposals underway
The European Commission has launched around 30 cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary and trans-European strategic Joint Cluster Initiatives to be called Euroclusters. The call for proposals is now ongoing, open for 14 Industrial Ecosystem Strands and one Open Strand.

Varagnes domain transformation: search for partners/good practices by the Seguin Foundation
The “Association des Amis de la Fondation Seguin” is looking for European partners in the context of the transformation of the Varagnes domain (in Ardèche, France). The aim is to protect the cultural heritage of the domain of Varagnes created by Marc Seguin, and to promote responsible innovation through the Seguin Foundation. The idea is to transform the Varagnes domain which is dedicated to creation, research and innovation into a place for cultural activities that will host projects with university researchers, schools, cultural associations, artists, businesses and communities as well as events combining arts and sciences.

Cultural Heritage (back) in Action!
ERRIN's peer learning programme Cultural Heritage in Action continues with the second phase in 2021-2023. The project will now widen its catalogue with more good practices and will organise a set of peer-learning activities on three enlarged topics. Two calls are already open.
