Cultural Heritage & Tourism
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

WCEF 2024 accelerator session: Inspiring best practices from a circular hub in Northern Netherlands

FU-TOURISM Workshop
Finnova Foundation will be holding the "FU-TOURISM stakeholder workshop: Building Tourism Ecosystems in Belgium". This event is part of the European project FU-TOURISM (Future-Ready Business support ecosystem for Tourism SME Transition to green and digital resilience), in which Finnova is a partner along with 6 other European countries. The CrAFt Cookbook: A Recipe for Climate-Positive Cities and Communities
This publication is CrAFt's contribution towards climate-positive cities and communities —less greenhouse gas emissions, better quality, for more people— with local collaboration at the core. The CrAFt Cookbook outlines seven stages for urban transformation inspired by the New European Bauhaus, covering everything from conceptualisation to execution, documentation, and replication. ERRIN joins the NEB Alliance as a founding member
On 26 February 2024, the New European Bauhaus Alliance introduced its Manifesto in Amsterdam. This Manifesto aims to help society move towards strong, climate-positive cities and communities. It wants to bring together people from different fields like engineering, economics, facility management, marine biology, industry, artificial intelligence, and others.

EU Research Champions Sustainable Cultural Tourism
As one of the eight Horizon 2020 research projects included in the latest CORDIS Results Pack, ERRIN's Be.CULTOUR project features as a good practice to promote sustainable cultural tourism. The results showcase how working with local communities and cultural heritage leads to better conservation practices and authentic visitor experiences while boosting local economies. CORDIS, the EU's research results platform, disseminates findings from EU-funded research to drive innovation across multiple sectors.

The European Heritage Hub launches two new digital tools: Heritage Library and Policy Monitor
The European Heritage Hub is an EU-funded pilot project bringing together heritage stakeholders and initiatives across Europe to support the transition towards a more sustainable, digital and inclusive society. The Hub has recently launched two new digital tools: the Heritage Library and the Policy Monitor. Both are now readily accessible, free of charge, and without registration requirements.

"VeneTo Stars" challenge 2024
The second edition of the "Veneto Stars" challenge has been launched, promoted by Veneto Region - Veneto Digital Agenda. Teams of young Europeans aged between 18 and 25 are asked to submit ideas to favour the protection, conservation, monitoring, or valorisation of the Veneto Region's UNESCO sites and cultural heritage. Participants can submit their ideas until 15 April 2024.
