Cultural Heritage & Tourism
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

WCEF 2024 accelerator session: Inspiring best practices from a circular hub in Northern Netherlands

ENCATC Members Talk - Towards a closer cooperation with Regions
On 12 April, ERRIN will take part in the upcoming Members Talk hosted by ENCATC (the European network on cultural management and policy). The online event will focus on regions and their role in strengthening and advancing culture.
FU-TOURISM Workshop
Finnova Foundation will be holding the "FU-TOURISM stakeholder workshop: Building Tourism Ecosystems in Belgium". This event is part of the European project FU-TOURISM (Future-Ready Business support ecosystem for Tourism SME Transition to green and digital resilience), in which Finnova is a partner along with 6 other European countries. The event will be taking place online on 9 April 2024, from 10:00-12:00.

New Booklet on driving a green, digital & innovative European cultural heritage
In December, the European Research Executive Agency published a booklet gathering short descriptions of the projects selected for funding under the Horizon Europe Cluster 2 calls under the Destination ‘Innovative Research on European Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries – Building Our Future From the Past’.
The European Heritage Hub project is looking for good practices
The European Heritage Hub is collecting good practices to share throughout Europe and beyond! Administrations of a city or region are asked to submit highlights of their work in heritage in the context of the ‘triple transformation ’ – green, digital and social – of our society. Ten practices will be selected for publication and promotion through the European Heritage Hub. Cities whose good practices are selected also get the opportunity to host a peer learning visit with a delegation of 20 participants funded by the project (3 peer learning visits will take place between Q2 2024 and Q1 2025).
ERRIN end of year reception - 2023 Highlights
On 7 December, ERRIN celebrated the network’s achievements in 2023. Following an engaging meeting with leaders of our 15 Working Groups, all ERRIN members were invited to a cocktail reception featuring a keynote from Markus Schulte, Head of Cabinet of Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules for Hotel accommodation services: join the Technical Secretariat
In support of the sustainable tourism policies initiated by the European Commission, a collaborative, multi-stakeholder Technical Secretariat will develop PEFCRs for Hotel accommodations in the European Union. Stakeholders of the hotel industry, as well as NGO representatives, are invited to apply as a member of the Technical Secretariat.

Erasmus+ Project: Strengthening Understanding and Solidarity among Youth in Ukraine and EU Countries
Danish company is looking for partners for Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships project The objective of this Erasmus + project is to place a spotlight on the future of the youth in war-affected Ukraine, both in Ukraine and in the EU. The project seeks to raise greater awareness of the consequences of the war for youth in Ukraine and EU countries while strengthening courage, unity, and community among young people from Ukraine and the EU. Our approach is to highlight hope and courage in a future where democracy should not be taken for granted, and dreams should not be forgotten even in difficult times.
