Design & Creativity
The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

Circular economy: improving design and end-of-life management of cars for more resource-efficient automotive sector
The Commission is proposing new measures to enhance the circularity of the automotive sector, covering the design, production and end-of-life treatment of vehicles. The proposed regulation is expected to have substantial environmental benefits, including an annual reduction of 12.3 million tons of CO2 emissions by 2035, better valorisation of 5.4 million tons of materials, and increased recovery of critical raw materials.

Call for submissions of cities and regions: good practices on high quality architecture and built environment
Eurocities and the Architects’ Council of Europe have launched a call for 30 best practices on high-quality architecture in cities and regions. 12 will get the opportunity to host a peer learning visit to one of the other selected cities or areas, allowing participants to learn from each other and from experts. ERRIN Spring AGM 2023 – taking stock of the EU Missions
ERRIN’s Spring Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023 took place on 22 June this year. As always, it brought together the large and dynamic community of member regions and cities. Following the format part with the update from the network, the main focus was the EU Missions, approached in two policy debates, on the support and implementation frameworks in Adaptation, Ocean and Waters and Soil Missions, and the governance innovation and the perspective on Cities and the Cancer Missions.

The cultural sector in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is looking to analyse how other regions have adapted after covid and ongoing economic issues.
