Design & Creativity
The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

The CrAFt Cookbook: A Recipe for Climate-Positive Cities and Communities
This publication is CrAFt's contribution towards climate-positive cities and communities —less greenhouse gas emissions, better quality, for more people— with local collaboration at the core. The CrAFt Cookbook outlines seven stages for urban transformation inspired by the New European Bauhaus, covering everything from conceptualisation to execution, documentation, and replication. Each stage highlights key principles and joint strategies, with real-life examples from CrAFt Cities, to inspire any city’s initiatives.

The University of Breda is looking for partners (both academic and not) in the field of cultural heritage, tourism and technology (ie AI) to work on a project related to Roots Tourism. The project will look to use technologies based on artificial intelligence, to create a platform capable of valorising objects.

Interest mapping: Regional Innovation Valleys call for proposals under Horizon Europe
In anticipation of the launch of the “Implementing co-funded action plans for connected regional innovation valleys” HORIZON-EIE-2023-CONNECT-03-01 call for proposals on 17 May 2023, ERRIN opened a mapping of members’ interest in developing project proposals under this call, to facilitate consortium building. Survey on Research & Innovation Gaps in Circular Economy
ERRIN invites its members to take part in the survey on Research and Innovations Gaps in circular economy, which is part of Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) of the European Commission (DG Research and Innovation). Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism Awards 2023: Apply by 1 June
Applications for the Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism Awards 2023 are now open! The theme of the 2023 edition is “Smart Tourism – Smart Destinations: Cultural Heritage & Creativity, Digitalisation, Sustainability”. The Awards will be given to cultural tourist destinations that have produced significant results, such as enhancing the visitor experience, respecting traditions and involving local communities. The deadline for applications is 1 June 2023.
