Design & Creativity

The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

ERRIN’s Circular Economy event: opportunities and challenges for members

ERRIN will host its cross-clusters Circular Economy event in Brussels on 21 October 2025. The event will explore the latest political developments, including the upcoming Circular Economy Act, and offering members the chance to contribute to ERRIN’s response to the public consultation. The programme will also showcase regional best practices in advancing circularity, with a call for examples open until 19 September.

Safer cities and neighbourhoods through public space design – Interactive workshop for future cooperation and expansion of safer cities across Europe

As part of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025 (13–15 October Brussels), InnoArch – together with Oslo Police District, ÆRA Strategic Innovation from Norway, Stiftelsen Tryggare Sverige (Safer Sweden Foundation) from Sweden and Københavns Kommune (the Municipality of Copenhagen) from Denmark – is organising a session addressing the topic of Safer cities and neighbourhoods through public space.

Housing for the Common Good: Sustainable housing governance in European cities and regions

On 10 October, the Capital Cities and Regions Network (CCRN) is organising the event 'Housing for the Common Good: Sustainable housing governance in European cities and regions'. Held within the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025, the event will provide an opportunity to examine the role of local and regional authorities in implementing housing governance, policies, and projects.

Co-organised by SECCORD and CYANOTYPES, the Creative Skills Week will gather the Cultural and Creative Sector Industries (CCSI) in Prague between the 22 and the 26 September.

Heritage Days 2025 - The art and design of Friuli Venezia Giulia in Brussels

Following its selection by Urban Brussels and the successful start to 2024, the Brussels Office of Friuli Venezia Giulia will be reopening its neoclassical building on Rue du Commerce to the public.

ERRIN at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025

The 23rd European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) brought together over 6,000 participants in Brussels under the motto Shaping Tomorrow, Together. As the largest annual event on EU Cohesion Policy, it provided a platform for cities and regions to exchange ideas on sustainable development, innovation and inclusiveness. ERRIN and its members were actively engaged throughout the week, contributing to and supporting several sessions that highlighted the importance of strong and connected regional innovation ecosystems.

ERRIN is looking for a Project and Policy Manager (Climate resilience and culture)

The ERRIN Secretariat is seeking a new colleague to work on a range of activities related to climate resilience and culture! The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing climate adaptation projects (RESIST, Pathways2Resilience) and support the policy and project activities under the Culture and Creativity cluster. The deadline to apply is 27 October.

Management Board elections 2025 – call for nominations launched!

Every year ERRIN holds elections for the Management Board. Becoming a member of the Board offers a unique opportunity to develop ERRIN further and strategically lead the network’s activities. You can put forward your candidature for this year’s elections until 17 October.

Shape ERRIN's 2026 agenda

ERRIN's Annual Survey for the 2026 agenda has been launched! The responses from this survey will be used by the Working Group and Task Force leaders during the annual strategy workshops in November to shape the activities in 2026. We invite all of ERRIN's members to share their current R&I priorities, topics and preferences for working with ERRIN in 2026. The survey is open until 31 October 2025.

PROSPERO goes to Middelfart for its second interregional meeting

On 30 September and 1 October, PROSPERO Project, in which ERRIN is a partner, will meet in Middelfart, Denmark, for its second interregional gathering. The programme will immerse participants in the city’s creative and touristic scene through site visits, workshops and exchanges with local stakeholders, engaging the partners in a dialogue on how to steer its future development as a dynamic hub.

Coordinator is looking for partners to join a NEB consortium

One stakeholder from Romania is leading a consortium for the call HORIZON-NEB-2025-01-BUSINESS-01 and seeks municipalities, universities, technical partners to join the proposal.

Call for members interested in participating in a proposal for Erasmus+ Blueprint project on Skills in the CRAFTS sector

For the upcoming Erasmus+ Lot 2 calls on Alliances for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills (implementing the 'Blueprint'), ERRIN is exploring the possibility of joining a proposal for a Skills Alliance in the sector of Crafts and Artisanship. We are inviting members regions with relevant prior experience and track record on skills and/or the crafts sector to express interest in joining the proposal as affiliated partners through ERRIN.
