Be.CULTOUR Project wraps up a successful journey on circular cultural tourism

In a dynamic two-day event held on 5 – 6 May in Naples, Be.CULTOUR, project in which ERRIN is a partner, successfully hosted its final event 'Beyond Cultural Tourism: Beautiful, Circular, Human'.

In the past three years, Be.CULTOUR has co-created and tested sustainable human-centred innovations for circular cultural tourism in six Pilot Heritage Sites, mobilising local ecosystems' actors to boost inclusive economic growth, improve the wellbeing of local communities, responding to their place-based needs, promoting nature regeneration as well as effective cooperation at cross-border, regional and local level.

Leveraging the interest of its Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group, ERRIN led the peer-learning activities engaging a community of 16 mirror regions, following closely the Pilot Heritage Sites innovative action plans, while fostering the exchange of good practices and knowledge sharing, both online and onsite.

During the final conference, ERRIN designed and facilitated the interactive session ‘Learn, Share, Replicate’, sparking ideas, collaborations and exchange of good practices among the representatives of the Mirror ecosystems, project advisors and members of the audience.

The results of the project, the tools developed, and the materials and guides produced to inspire and accompany any other regions interested in boosting their sustainability and entrepreneurship of local cultural tourism are available on the Be.CULTOUR website.

Among the key outputs that support the replication of the methodology developed and tested in the Pilot Heritage Sites, ERRIN developed the Be.CULTOUR Toolkit, The Ultimate Guide for Sustainable Explorers: Postcards from the Three Local Workshops. The toolkit aims to be a user-friendly and accessible instrument to implement Local Workshops (LWs) engaging all relevant tourism stakeholders and steer the development of co-designed Local Action Plans.
