Energy & Climate Change
The main objective of the Energy & Climate Change Working Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on energy-related policies and funding programmes, especially looking at the Green Deal and REPowerEU, the Green Industrial Plan, the Hydrogen Valleys, the energy storage and batteries (with reference to S3 Partnership on batteries) and Horizon Europe.
The priority areas also feature climate change issues (such as climate adaptation), nature-based solutions and natural resources. The WG is set to explore links and synergies with other areas in which energy and climate change play central role and cooperate with other ERRIN Working Groups, namely the Transport, Smart Cities, SEFS and S3 Working Groups, as well as the ERRIN Task Forces on climate adaptation and on the New European Bauhaus.

The Repowering the EU with Hydrogen Valleys: showcasing innovative solutions event will take place at Autoworld, Brussels on 1 March 2023 from 14:00-17:00. This unique event is organised by DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission, and supported by Hydrogen Europe, Hydrogen Europe Research, and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. Registrations close at 12:00 on 23 February.
SEFS WG Meeting: Kicking off the European Year of Skills in the ERRIN Network: State of play of the Pact for Skills and its regional dimension
This first SEFS WG meeting will kick off the European Year of Skills in the ERRIN network and is open to members of all Working Groups. ERRIN members will have an in-depth look at the Pact for Skills and we will learn about the state of play of this first flagship of the new European Skills Agenda. We will also discuss with the European Commission the regional dimension of the Pact for Skills, the Regional Skills Partnerships and showcase examples from the Lombardy Region and the European Chemical Regions Network.

EU City Calculator: a learning programme to support public authorities in reaching climate neutrality
From 26 February 2024, all European cities will have the opportunity to enroll in the EUCityCalc project's learning programme to learn how to collect data and use the EU City Calculator tool, which is an open source online platform that allows local councils and other stakeholders to visualise and simulate low-carbon scenarios for their towns and cities, as well as to assess the trade-offs related to available choices.

Governance structures to implement the EU Missions: check the new Mission Data Platform
A new Mission Data Platform has recently been launched by TRAMI, the EU-funded project focusing on transnational cooperation on the Mission-approach and effective implementation of the EU Missions. This tool supports and links with ERRIN's work on multi-level governance in the Cities Mission within the NetZeroCities project.

Present your regional Climate Pact to Timmermans’ Cabinet in September 2020!
Following the speech of Daniel Mes, from the Cabinet of Vice-President Timmermans, during ERRIN’s Spring Annual General Meeting, ERRIN has been invited to hold a meeting with the members of Frans Timmermans Cabinet in connection to the R&I Days (September 2020). A selected number of members will have the opportunity to present their regional Climate Pacts and further discuss how these can contribute to the future European Climate Pact.

ERRIN has been invited to join a consortium applying for the Horizon 2020 cal on “Supporting public authorities in driving the energy transition” (LC-SC3-EC-5-2020). We are looking for small and medium sized cities, municipalities, and regions from all over Europe interested in endorsing the project and committing to cooperate with the consortium, provided that the proposal is successful.
