The main objective of the ICT Work Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on ICTrelated initiatives and funding opportunities in relation to the European Commission’s policy priority “A Europe fit for the digital age”. The 22nd edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities will take place on 7-10 October 2024. The kick-off meeting for potential partners will take place on Thursday, 22 February, from 10:00 - 11:30 at the European Committee of the Regions. It is also possible to follow this meeting online.

On 18-19 March, the 10th European Summit of Regions and Cities took place in Mons, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR). The European Heritage Hub is an EU-funded pilot project bringing together heritage stakeholders and initiatives across Europe to support the transition towards a more sustainable, digital and inclusive society. A comprehensive report that sets forth an ambitious strategy to leverage Artificial Intelligence in enhancing Europe’s cultural heritage sector has been published. The report details AI’s capacity to improve preservation, accessibility, and interaction with cultural assets. It calls for sector-wide collaboration, innovation, and investment to overcome challenges and fully harness AI’s transformative potential for heritage conservation and engagement.
On 7 December, ERRIN celebrated the network’s achievements in 2023. Following an engaging meeting with leaders of our 15 Working Groups, all ERRIN members were invited to a cocktail reception featuring a keynote from Markus Schulte, Head of Cabinet of Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. A consortium of European regional stakeholders is developing a project proposal on systemic circular solutions for sustainable tourism, and they are looking for regions/actors interested in taking part as replicators.
On 17 January 2024, ERRIN will host a future collaboration opportunities session focusing on stakeholders engagement across different sectors, which will see the active participation of RIPEET pilot ecosystems and partners. The session will focus on calls related to stakeholders engagement in the field of energy, climate resilience and adaptation, and built environment, with deadlines in mid-2024 and early 2025.
