Science & Education for Society

The Science & Education for Society Working Group addresses topics related to the concept of place-based universities and engagement with society and citizens while also working on the role of education (both VET and Higher Education) in the Research and Innovation Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3) as well as education and skills for research and innovation. The Working Group facilitates information sharing, knowledge development, and aims to strengthen existing and build new relationships with the EU institutions. Facilitating project development is also part of the Working Group's scope. For this purpose, the Working Group assesses the interest of the membership for specific calls under Erasmus+ and support in the most efficient way the members in building consortia, primarily with the ERRIN online tool for project development.

Opening up Research and Innovation processes in EU Missions: Interactive Workshop

As part of the New European Bauhaus Festival, the REINFORCING project will be running a workshop on Open Responsible Research and Innovation. During this interactive and participatory workshop, participants will have a chance to discover practical examples of how public engagement and co-creation processes can be used in the context of EU missions and share the challenges faced in implementing these processes. Participants will also get to learn more about the grants available to run public engagement activities.

Territories in ACTION

Following the launch of the ACTIONbook in January 2024, the JRC and CoR are organising an event to present the publication alongside insights from several territories on their innovative place-based transformations. As the ACTIONbook builds on the experiences from the PRI Pilot Action, next steps linked to this initiative will also be shared.

All ERRIN members are invited to save the date for the ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting, which will take place on 16 November 2023 in the ERRIN premises. The meeting is organised to make the necessary changes to the ERRIN Articles of Association and a minimum of 2/3 of the ERRIN members must be represented. Call for Action: Youth Freedom of Expression

Youth Freedom of Expression is a project concept where organisations working for youth participation join forces in identifying and mitigating barriers to youth freedom of expression in Europe. European Commission launches the Harnessing Talent Platform- Call for Working Group Participation

The European Commission has just launched the Harnessing Talent Platform (HTP), a centralised online hub providing relevant information, knowledge, and assistance to help EU regions dealing with demographic challenges to attract, develop and retain talent. Looking for partners for: Development of sport tourism for regional sustainable development

Creating a partnership made up of policy relevant organizations from 4 different countries in Europe to work together and exchange experience on developing the regional tourism economy by creating, testing, implementing and monitoring a policy instrument (Ex: completing the county’s strategy of development (SDD) with the component Sports movement - element to promote the touristic potential). In this new Interreg NEW project we have the ambition to improve accessibility to health and care services in rural areas, in particular we will reach out to older people who are at risk of isolation after their spouse passed away. By offering technology, we want to help this target group in daily activities such as cooking. We want to reach out before difficulties arises. We will develop innovative care services and smart approaches to avoid extreme isolation and by consequence of this isolation health problems like malnutrition or home accidents like falls.
