Smart Cities
The objective of the Working Group is to act as a platform to offer early information on priorities and funding opportunities linked to Smart Cities, with a focus on the EU Mission on 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030. The WG aims to facilitate sharing of experiences and support matchmaking to develop new partnerships and projects. The WG targets the smart city topic from an integrated and holistic approach, addressing issues such as citizen engagement, data-driven policy and smart governance models, while exploring synergies between the areas linked to smart cities as addressed by the ERRIN WGs on Energy and Climate Change, Transport and ICT.

I-HEROS Webinar : Unlocking energy renovation potential: Launching local One-Stop-Shops for efficient residential renovation policies
As part of the I-HEROS project, this webinar will reflect on the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, and present the future challenges for urban renovation policies. More specifically, we will reflect on how these services can be expanded and replicated and what key conditions are needed to make them sustainable in the long term.
NATI00NS thematic events: Solutions for urban and post-industrial soil de-sealing
The NATI00NS project is organising a series of online thematic events on healthy soil and sustainable management. The first thematic event, taking place on 14 December at 10:00 CET, will focus on the various aspects of soil sealing, particularly in urban and post-industrial soils, exploring innovative practices aimed at its reversal.
Creating Value in Mobility ecosystems
Coventry University & BOOSTERLabs, members of the Inno-Mob project consortium, are holding an online workshop, "Creating Value in French #Mobility Ecosystems," on 12 December 2023. The workshop will present the upcoming funding opportunities under Horizon Europe 2024 calls and will feature an interactive co-design session using the #EIT Value Creation Model.
Available support to regions in EU Mission Adaptation
To support regions and communities in achieving the ambition of the EU Mission Adaptation to Climate Change, the EU has funded several projects to provide support services to Charter signatories and beyond in the different steps of the journey. This meeting invites three projects that provide support to regions and communities to present the support services.

Pathways2Resilience launch event Resilient Europe: Empowering regions for climate adaptation
ERRIN's project, Pathways2Resilience is a flagship project under the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, working to empower 150 regions in developing transformative adaptation plans. On 23 November, in Brussels and online, the first call for applicants will be presented, along with how regions are successfully implementing the EU Mission.

Handbook on implementation and adoption barriers of urban living labs developing nature-based solutions
Developing Urban Living Labs is a relatively novel approach in urban areas, and consequently, there are many challenges and barriers that cities face during ULL adoption. This handbook, developed by the UNaLab project, aims to identify and explore some common barriers to the adoption of Urban Living Labs, and provide cities with a tool and an understanding of how to strategically address these barriers.

Available support to regions in EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change
On 12 December 2023, the ERRIN Adaptation Task Force organised a hybrid event providing an overview of the available financial and technical support for regions and communities under the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. Here is a summary of the opportunities provided within three initiatives running under the Mission Adaptation.
ERRIN end of year reception - 2023 Highlights
On 7 December, ERRIN celebrated the network’s achievements in 2023. Following an engaging meeting with leaders of our 15 Working Groups, all ERRIN members were invited to a cocktail reception featuring a keynote from Markus Schulte, Head of Cabinet of Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. MOSAIC wraps up a successful co-creation journey with EU cities
In a dynamic two-day event held on 21 and 22 November, MOSAIC, project in which ERRIN is a partner, successfully hosted its final event 'Co-creation in EU Missions'. City representatives, European Commission policy officers, researchers, private sector representatives and co-creation experts converged to delve the immense potential of co-creation in addressing complex challenges, particularly those posed by the Horizon EU Missions. Pathways2Resilience: First Call for Regions and Communities- Deadline extended until May
Pathways2Resilience (P2R), an ERRIN project, has opened its first call for Regions and Communities for subgrant applications to co-design visions of a climate-resilient future and transformative adaptation pathways that will ensure long-term impact. The first call has had the deadline extended until 6 May 2024 12:00 CEST. Following updated guidance from CINEA, UK regions are now eligible to apply.

NetZeroCities Call for Pilot Cities
The NetZeroCities project, in which ERRIN is a partner, has opened a second Call for Pilot Cities. Mission Cities which are not yet part of the Pilot Cities Programme can apply to test and implement innovative approaches towards rapid decarbonisation. The Call for Pilot Cities is open until 6 November 2023 17.00 CET.

ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting on 16 November 2023 – important announcement for members
All ERRIN members are invited to save the date for the ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting, which will take place on 16 November 2023 in the ERRIN premises. The meeting is organised to make the necessary changes to the ERRIN Articles of Association and a minimum of 2/3 of the ERRIN members must be represented. Blue Economy WG: Call for regional examples on water-related nature-based solutions
The Blue Economy Working Group is looking for regional examples of water-related nature-based solutions for climate change, to be presented in its upcoming meeting ‘Water issues in the era of climate change’. The meeting will take place on 5 October between 10:00 and 11:30 CEST. Deadline for contributions is on Friday 8 September.

Call for regional examples: New European Bauhaus
Following the announcement on an NEB mission the ERRIN Task Force is organising an event focusing on the bottom-up approaches to NEB that have been developed during the last few years and their role in the Mission’s development.
