Smart Cities
The objective of the Working Group is to act as a platform to offer early information on priorities and funding opportunities linked to Smart Cities, with a focus on the EU Mission on 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030. The WG aims to facilitate sharing of experiences and support matchmaking to develop new partnerships and projects. The WG targets the smart city topic from an integrated and holistic approach, addressing issues such as citizen engagement, data-driven policy and smart governance models, while exploring synergies between the areas linked to smart cities as addressed by the ERRIN WGs on Energy and Climate Change, Transport and ICT.

Join the RIPEET Lab: sharing key learnings on stakeholders’ engagement methods
The RIPEET Lab is the closing chapter of the project peer-learning programme where RIPEET's mirrors and pilot territories will exchange good practices. The event will involve RIPEET partners and external stakeholders, focusing on key learnings to replicate stakeholder engagement methods in other contexts and expressing interest in future collaboration opportunities on upcoming calls.

The RESPONSE project is organising its 5th Webinar: Collaborative Citizen Engagement in the Development of Positive Energy Districts (PED) - focused on introducing the topic “Collaborative Citizen Engagement in the Development of Positive Energy Districts” and presentation of RESPONSE activities regarding citizen engagement implemented in Turku and Dijon. I-HEROS Webinar : Unlocking energy renovation potential: Launching local One-Stop-Shops for efficient residential renovation policies
As part of the I-HEROS project, this webinar will reflect on the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, and present the future challenges for urban renovation policies. More specifically, we will reflect on how these services can be expanded and replicated and what key conditions are needed to make them sustainable in the long term.
NATI00NS thematic events: Solutions for urban and post-industrial soil de-sealing
The NATI00NS project is organising a series of online thematic events on healthy soil and sustainable management. The first thematic event, taking place on 14 December at 10:00 CET, will focus on the various aspects of soil sealing, particularly in urban and post-industrial soils, exploring innovative practices aimed at its reversal.
Creating Value in Mobility ecosystems
Coventry University & BOOSTERLabs, members of the Inno-Mob project consortium, are holding an online workshop, "Creating Value in French #Mobility Ecosystems," on 12 December 2023. The workshop will present the upcoming funding opportunities under Horizon Europe 2024 calls and will feature an interactive co-design session using the #EIT Value Creation Model.
Available support to regions in EU Mission Adaptation
To support regions and communities in achieving the ambition of the EU Mission Adaptation to Climate Change, the EU has funded several projects to provide support services to Charter signatories and beyond in the different steps of the journey. This meeting invites three projects that provide support to regions and communities to present the support services.

Cities Mission Enabling City Transformation call now open!
The Cities Mission Platform has opened a call for the Enabling City Transformation Programme. The Enabling City Transformation call invites Mission Cities to propose innovative actions to overcome systemic challenges faced when implementing climate action. This 18-month programme aims to foster large-scale, city-wide transformation, building upon and progressing beyond the Pilot Cities programme. The call is open until 14 October.
Cascade funding available to deploy data spaces for cities and communities
The EU-funded project Data Spaces for Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities opened a call in June 2024 to select pilot projects for the deployment of Data Spaces.
Call for Applications for IN SITU Summer School
Applications are now open to join IN SITU Summer School, “Place-based creative solutions for cultivating caring and sustainable communities" (20-24 September 2024), and the IN SITU Conference "Horizons of Sustainability: The power of creative innovation for transformation of rural and non-urban futures" (25-27 September 2024), both held in the beautiful island of Zlarin, Croatia.

The document is a concise compilation of the reflections on FP10 done at ERRIN so far, highlighting topics of key importance. Work on a series of broader input papers is underway.
ERRIN is looking for a Head of projects - Extended Deadline
In view of the upcoming departure of ERRIN's current Director of projects, Ryan Titley, ERRIN is looking for a replacement to start in September 2024. The new colleague will work closely with the ERRIN Director on strategic planning, and lead the implementation and development of ERRIN's current and future project portfolio. Extended deadline: Applications are open until 26 May at 17.00 CEST.

ERRIN is inviting members to contribute input to the candidate Horizon Europe Partnership on Social Transformation and Resilience and the R&I topics that should be addressed by the partnership by 14 June. Cohesion policy post-2027 - letter from regions to President Von der Leyen - support by 30 May
A letter was addressed last week to Ursula von der Leyen with the support of 111 European regions, ERRIN and CPMR, requesting a meeting with the aim of defending the future of the cohesion policy. Given the wish of other regions to adhere, the letter is planned to be resent at the end of this week - interested regions are invited to provide their logos by Thursday 30 May.

Call for Speakers | Workshop on regional policies to promote the adoption of innovation by public administrations.
The EU project PREPARE is looking for speakers with expertise on instruments like Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) and/or Open Innovation to foster collaboration between public procurers and innovative companies following demand-driven approaches. Those with experience or interest in incorporating procurement of innovation policies in Smart Specialisation Strategies are also invited to contribute.
