The Working Group promotes cooperation and facilitates dialogue between regions in the field of transport, mobility and logistics as well as with the EU institutions to raise awareness of the regional and local dimensions of the thematic areas. The group fosters discussion on new developments in EU policy and facilitates project development and participation in European projects.

European Week of Regions and Cities
The 2024 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities is taking place from 7-10 October in Brussels. Under the motto "Empowering Regions" - thousands of local and regional administrations and authorities, EU institutions, young politicians, academics, NGOs and private sector representatives will gather in Brussels to share knowledge, experiences and ideas on how to bring forward practical and territorial aspects linked to the Cohesion Policy.
Launch Event of the Clean Energy Transition Partnership 2024 Call
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership launches its third Joint Call on 19 September 2024. On that occasion, they are organising a launch event to provide more information on what topics will be addressed in 2024 and to clarify all open questions about applying for the Joint Call 2024. Cities Mission – focus on sustainable urban mobility
Transport and Smart Cities WGs will organise a meeting on proposed mobility strategies in the Climate Cities Contracts and the measures needed to reduce emissions. Representatives from cities awarded with the EU Mission Label will present their best practices and insights into how they are taking steps to reduce mobility-related emissions and reach climate neutrality by 2030. Workshop on regional policies to promote the adoption of innovation by public administrations
The EU project Prepare brings together four regions that are interacting with the local ecosystems to design novel policies that promote demand-driven co-creation for the benefit of local public services, SMEs and citizens. The aim is to help unlock the potential of innovation procurement to turn regional needs into opportunities. A workshop with thematic insights, resources and best practices will take place on 27 June from 9:00-12:30 in Brussels.

Towards a research agenda for the EU Mission on Climate-neutral and Smart Cities
Researchers who have actively worked with Pilot Cities or Mission Cities within the frame of the EU Mission on 100 Climate-neutral and Smart Cities by 2030 are invited to join a collaborative event geared towards advancing research in the Cities Mission. The event aims to develop and foster a robust network of universities and research institutions actively engaged in this endeavour while allowing participants to learn more about the NetZeroCities project and the Mission Cities and potentially develop shared research outputs. Governance structures to implement the EU Missions: check the new Mission Data Platform
A new Mission Data Platform has recently been launched by TRAMI, the EU-funded project focusing on transnational cooperation on the Mission-approach and effective implementation of the EU Missions. This tool supports and links with ERRIN's work on multi-level governance in the Cities Mission within the NetZeroCities project.
Clean Hydrogen Partnership 2024 calls are now open!
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership has officially launched its calls for proposals for 2024, providing a funding opportunity of €113.5 million to advance projects supporting the development of hydrogen technologies across the entire hydrogen value chain. ERRIN members can join a workshop hosted by Hydrogen Europe Regional Pillar on Wednesday, 7 February, focusing specifically on Hydrogen Valley calls.
ERRIN welcomes new network Chairs
The ERRIN Management Board has appointed three co-chairs to the network. The three postholders will work together as a troika to guide the network in a collaborative manner in the period of 2024-2025.

Mission Ocean and Waters Technical Assistance Call
The European Commission launched a call for technical assistance to support communities of stakeholders working with ports, islands and fisheries. Set within the sea basins of the Mission Ocean and Waters - the Mediterranean, Atlantic & Arctic, Danube, and North & Baltic Sea - this technical assistance aims to empower and guide these communities towards impactful and sustainable feasibility studies for their projects to achieve the Mission objectives. The first cycle will close on 24 May 2024.

23 new Mission Cities awarded the Mission Label
During a dedicated session at the EU Research & Innovation Days, 23 new cities part of the EU Mission on 100 climate-neutral and smart cities were awarded the Mission Label for their plans to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. ERRIN is pleased to see that 15 cities are located in ERRIN member regions.
