Cultural Heritage & Tourism
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

SEFS WG Meeting: Kicking off the European Year of Skills in the ERRIN Network: State of play of the Pact for Skills and its regional dimension
This first SEFS WG meeting will kick off the European Year of Skills in the ERRIN network and is open to members of all Working Groups. ERRIN members will have an in-depth look at the Pact for Skills and we will learn about the state of play of this first flagship of the new European Skills Agenda. We will also discuss with the European Commission the regional dimension of the Pact for Skills, the Regional Skills Partnerships and showcase examples from the Lombardy Region and the European Chemical Regions Network.

The Cultural Heritage & Tourism WG invites its members to a meeting, on 15 February from 14:15-16:00, with Gabrielle Bernoville and Maria Castillo (DG EAC- Education, Youth, Sport and Culture/ Unit D2 Creative Europe) to learn more about available EU labels in the sector and discuss experiences and opportunities for potential applications in regional Research and Innovation.
NEB Stewardship Lab Launch Event
Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Finland), together with other European coordinators, welcomes you to the online launch event of the New European Bauhaus Stewardship Lab on 7 February between 14:00-15:30. The event will explore and enhance the role of higher education in the NEB initiative and our NEB Stewardship Lab activities also contribute to the European Year of Skills 2023.

Join the Heritage Hub’s summer peer-learning visit to Glasgow
The European Heritage Hub invites city representatives and heritage professionals to apply for its upcoming peer-learning visit in Glasgow, taking place 8 – 10 July 2024. Organised in partnership with the City of Glasgow, this programme offers a unique opportunity to share good practices and acquire skills for addressing environmental, digital, and social challenges related to cultural heritage in local contexts.

ERRIN is looking for a Head of projects - Extended Deadline
In view of the upcoming departure of ERRIN's current Director of projects, Ryan Titley, ERRIN is looking for a replacement to start in September 2024. The new colleague will work closely with the ERRIN Director on strategic planning, and lead the implementation and development of ERRIN's current and future project portfolio. Extended deadline: Applications are open until 26 May at 17.00 CEST.
ERRIN members receive the European Heritage Label
On 17 April, the European Heritage Label Bureau and European Commission held the EHL Awards Ceremony 2024, awarding seven new European Heritage Sites with the label. Among them, several ERRIN members have been selected for their symbolic value, the role they have played in European history and the activities they offer.
Second call for participants for Living Spaces peer-learning visits on architecture and the built environment
Living Spaces is a peer-learning programme designed for local and regional authorities to learn how to plan and implement high-quality architectural policies and projects. From July 2023 to November 2024, the programme will facilitate exchanges among the European Union’s cities, regions, Member States and relevant stakeholders on processes and good practices.

DG RTD has recently released a thematic report titled "Overview of Public Engagement in Research & Innovation", which provides an introductory overview of Public Engagement in Research and Innovation in Europe. The New European Bauhaus consultations are open
After the Commission's proposal to launch a new EU Mission on New European Bauhaus, five consultations are now open to gather input on the objectives, implementation and financing of the Mission. The purpose of this targeted consultation is to gather the views of the professional community on the R&I needed for the transformation of our construction ecosystem, in order to identify and define the right components to design this potential future mission.

All ERRIN members are invited to save the date for the ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting, which will take place on 16 November 2023 in the ERRIN premises. The meeting is organised to make the necessary changes to the ERRIN Articles of Association and a minimum of 2/3 of the ERRIN members must be represented.
