ERRIN’s Health Working Group (WG) supports members with early intelligence and regular updates about EU-level health policy-related issues, regulations, EU programmes and their funding opportunities. Creating opportunities for interregional cooperation in the Health area is one of the WG’s main objectives. The CareSam network is organising a conference on ageing societies in an EU perspective, the challenges and opportunities. The number of older adults living with chronic diseases, multi-morbidity and dementia or other mental health illnesses is growing, leading to pressure on both the old age care sector and on relatives. The TEHDAS joint action invites stakeholders across Europe to participate in building recommendations on health data altruism. The workshop will take place on Thursday 27 April from 15.00-17.00 CEST. On 19 July, the European Commission (EC) published a Communication on the assessment of the EU Missions after two years of implementation. The EC details the Missions' successes but also recognises the need to address challenges related to governance, budget, citizens and private sector engagement. The EC also proposes to add a sixth Mission on the New European Bauhaus.

The European Commission has just launched the Harnessing Talent Platform (HTP), a centralised online hub providing relevant information, knowledge, and assistance to help EU regions dealing with demographic challenges to attract, develop and retain talent. ERRIN’s Spring Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023 took place on 22 June this year. As always, it brought together the large and dynamic community of member regions and cities. Following the format part with the update from the network, the main focus was the EU Missions, approached in two policy debates, on the support and implementation frameworks in Adaptation, Ocean and Waters and Soil Missions, and the governance innovation and the perspective on Cities and the Cancer Missions.
ERRIN is looking for a Climate Neutral Cities Advisor to join its Secretariat! The successful candidate will work to ensure the delivery of the Horizon Europe Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by taking part in the activities of the NetZeroCities project. The deadline to apply is 29 July.
On 5 July, the European Commission adopted the new European Innovation Agenda with the aim of positioning Europe at the forefront of the new wave of deep tech innovation and start-ups. The document, to which ERRIN submitted input in May this year, sets out 25 dedicated actions under five flagships, including on European Innovation Ecosystems.
Municipality of Vesthimmerland have received funding for a pilot project under bridge buildings call autumn last year for a project - InnoPanTec https://udvikling.vesthimmerland.dk/projekter/innopantec The project is focusing on the senior care sector and hereby as a result of covid-19, approaches, digital solutions, and technologies to ensure higher hygiene in the senior care houses. Project have also approach towards capacity building and education for nurses and ergo therapeutics. Accordingly, we are looking for a Norwegian municipality, department in charge of the senior care sector to be able to involve in the project senior nursing homes to test technologies, and exchange knowledge on higher hygiene solutions and approaches.
We are international consortium of 3 research groups applying for the EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) “Understanding the mechanisms of non-pharmacological interventions”. The title of our project is “Lipids – key to the beneficial effects of exercise and the missing piece of Parkinson’s disease pathophysiology”. Our project application already passed the first qualification stage and we were invited to submit full proposal.
