Two new initiatives for higher education: a European strategy for universities
Two new higher education initiatives have been adopted by the European Commission. The European Strategy for Universities and a Commission proposal for a Council Recommendation on building bridges for effective European higher education cooperation are expected to support European universities in their unique position to shape a greener, more inclusive and digital European Union.

2022 EU4Health Work Programme adopted
The European Commission has adopted the 2022 EU4Health Work Programme, which will invest over €835 million in building stronger, more resilient health systems.

European Commission publishes Horizon Europe Work Programme for EU Missions
The European Commission has published the Horizon Europe Work Programme for 2021-2022, including the Work Programme for the five EU Missions. As a result of a budget increase, 19 new calls dedicated to the roll-out of the EU Missions have been announced.

Cities Mission: Call for Expressions of Interest now open!
The European Commission has launched its call for Expression on Interest for the Horizon Europe Mission on Climate-neutral and Smart Cities. Applications are open until 31 January 2022.
