Online consultation on Digital Europe Programme

The European Commission has opened a consultation on the draft Orientation of the first two years of its proposed Digital Europe programme. Inputs received through the consultation will help the Commission finalise the Orientations for Digital Europe. These will then shape the work programmes and calls for proposals for the programme’s first two years (2021-2022).

European Capital of Innovation 2019 announced

Last week at the Research and Innovation Days the Commission announced the European Capital of Innovation for 2019. The city of Nantes in north-west France was awarded the title, securing a €1 million prize funded by Horizon 2020.

Public sector digital transformation: GDPR currently hindering cities from using city data to co-create with private sector

The City of Espoo, Finland, wants to initiate discussion on urban authorities’ right to use their own data to develop city services by co-creating not only with research entities but also industry representatives. Currently the GDPR hinders the public sector from using the high-quality data gathered from the citizens for important public services.

Online training on ‘Energy efficiency and renewable energy financial instruments for managing authorities”

In the frame of Interreg Project FIRECE, the Project Partners are organising an online training on Energy efficiency and renewable energy financial instruments for managing authorities. The course, which goal is to  provide the users with relevant expert information, is divided into five basic thematic blocks; each block consists of several modules that focus on specific topics.   The training will be available online starting from next week, and will remain accessible for the whole time of the project duration (until June 2020).   Those interested in attending the training are kindly invited

Digital Innovation Hub Enhanced- Learning Programme (DIHELP)

The European Commission has launched the Digital Innovation Hub Enhanced Learning Programme (DIHELP). DIHELP will support 30 Digital Innovation Hubs to develop and/or scale-up their activities for 9 months through a coaching and mentoring programme. This call for Expression of Interest has been launched on the 28 November 2018 and will be open until 16 January 2019 (17:00 CET). New DIHs as well as established DIHs can apply to be a part of the programme.
