Cultural Heritage & Tourism
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

WCEF 2024 accelerator session: Inspiring best practices from a circular hub in Northern Netherlands

FU-TOURISM Workshop
Finnova Foundation will be holding the "FU-TOURISM stakeholder workshop: Building Tourism Ecosystems in Belgium". This event is part of the European project FU-TOURISM (Future-Ready Business support ecosystem for Tourism SME Transition to green and digital resilience), in which Finnova is a partner along with 6 other European countries. ERRIN members get Saltaire Inspired: Be.CULTOUR study-visit & Local workshop in Saltaire, Bradford
International partners from Be.CULTOUR project community traveled to West Yorkshire from 27 to 30 May to learn more about key events and destinations in the district, including Bradford 2025, exchange successful approaches and build collaborations. European Commission launches the European Capital and Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism 2024 competitions
The European Commission, DG GROW, has announced the launch of two competitions for cities and destinations with outstanding achievements in the field of tourism: European Capital of Smart Tourism and European Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism.
Regional Innovation Valleys calls for proposals launched!
The first Regional Innovation Valleys calls for proposals under the European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE) part of Horizon Europe and under the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Instrument of the ERDF were launched by the European Commission on 17 May with an overall budget of EUR 122 million. Call for Proposals FLIP (Finance, Learning, Innovation and Patenting) for Cultural and Creative Industries
The 2023 annual work programme for implementing the Creative Europe programme foresees the publication of a call for proposals with €1.05 million allocated to developing an action for cultural and creative sectors and industries.
