Cultural Heritage & Tourism
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

Policy WG meeting: Kick-starting 2024: Towards R&I and cohesion policies post-2027
The Policy Working Group will kick off 2024 with a meeting offering the latest insights about the work at the EU level towards future R&I and cohesion policies post-2027, as some of ERRIN's priority focus areas for the coming years. The event will take place in person at the ERRIN premises on 30 January from 14:00-15:30, followed by networking coffee until 16:00.

ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting
The ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting will take place on 16 November 2023 from 14:00-16:00 CET in the ERRIN premises, with participation possible online. This Meeting is organised to make the necessary changes to the ERRIN Articles of Association following requirements by the new code for Belgian companies and associations. A minimum of 2/3 of the ERRIN members must be represented at the Meeting, and therefore engagement of each member is of crucial importance.

Development of an AI-based solution for tourism in inland areas
The University of Breda is looking for partners (both academic and not) in the field of cultural heritage, tourism and technology (ie AI) to work on a project related to Roots Tourism. Based on the principles of peer learning, replicability of practices and co-creation methodology, this webinar series aims to encourage a comprehensive understanding of circular and sustainable cultural tourism practices. Call for European Heritage Days Stories 2023 – deadline 28 February
With the European Heritage Stories, communities across the continent are invited to share their special stories about Europe’s cultural heritage. All of the stories that meet the eligibility criteria will be published as European Heritage Days Stories, promoted at European level, and receive a grant of up to €10,000. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2023.

Open calls for Town Twinning and Networks of Towns
Two calls, one on Town Twinning and another on Networks of Towns, will open later this year. There will be an info day for each, om June and March respectively.
