The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

The next edition of ICLEI’s flagship Breakfast at Sustainability’s series will take place online on 5 October 2023 from 10:00-12:00 CEST, in collaboration with ERRIN, in the context of the Be.CULTOUR project, and will bring together representatives of EU institutions, cultural experts, regional officers, and tourism stakeholders to discuss the unexplored potential of cultural heritage as a driver of circular tourism.

The NEB Facility is a unique, multi-annual EU funding tool that aims to transform neighbourhoods through design for sustainability and inclusion. The European Commission is now inviting all interested parties to contribute to the consultation on defining the content of the New European Bauhaus Facility.

It highlights examples of emerging occupations and professional profiles, learning outcomes, and recommended curricula outlines.
The Commission has opened a public consultation to seek feedback from all stakeholders involved in implementing, managing, and delivering the European Capital of Culture (ECoC) action and from the wider public who are either interested in or participate in culture. The consultation is open until 24 September 2024.
The European Heritage Hub, a pilot project co-funded by the EU connecting heritage stakeholders across Europe, has selected 14 heritage projects across 11 EU neighbouring countries for its Small Grants Scheme (see annexe for the complete list of projects). Around 250,000 EUR has been allocated to the selected initiatives led by civil society organisations, distributed among small, medium, and large-scale grants. The Scheme is run by Europa Nostra, the Project Leader of the European Heritage Hub, in consultation with other members of the Hub consortium, and is co-funded by ALIPH Foundation.

The European Commission has launched a call for commitments and participation in the co-implementation of Transition Pathway for Tourism, to collect and document commitments, pledges and expressions of interest from the industry and destinations to pave the way towards green and digital transition of the tourism ecosystem. The call is open until the end of May 2022.
La Friche de la Belle de Mai, located in Marseille, France, is offering its expertise to participate in the Horizon Europe call for proposals: 'The New European Bauhaus – shaping a greener and fairer way of life in creative and inclusive societies through Architecture, Design and Arts' (deadline : 20 April).
With its second phase in full swing, the peer learning programme Cultural Heritage in Action now offers opportunities for regional and local public administrations and their representatives to take part in the call for good practices by 30 April and apply to participate in a peer learning visit in Leeds by 25 March.

As one of six university colleges in Denmark, VIA University College educates e.g. teachers, pre-school and early childhood learning specialists, nurses, social workers, engineers and designers and offer education programmes in 11 cities of the Central Denmark Region. VIA also has seven research and development centres including centres and programs developing and researching digital learning, sustainability and inclusion. VIA is searching for partners to build an Erasmus+ Teacher Academy.
The second wave of calls for proposals under the Digital Europe Programme has been launched, with the deadline for applications on 17 May 2022. The funding will see an investment of over €292 million in multiple areas.
