Design & Creativity

The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

ERRIN Autumn Annual General Meeting 2022

ERRIN end of year reception - 2023 Highlights

On 7 December, ERRIN celebrated the network’s achievements in 2023. Following an engaging meeting with leaders of our 15 Working Groups, all ERRIN members were invited to a cocktail reception featuring a keynote from Markus Schulte, Head of Cabinet of Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. New European Bauhaus handbook

A handbook on the New European Bauhaus (NEB) was recently developed as part of the NEBULA project, a Coordination and Support Action funded by the Horizon Europe program. The handbook is addressed to any person or entity willing to understand the concepts underlying the New European Bauhaus initiative launched by the European Commission and get familiar with the associated resources and opportunities.

Creative FLIP Project launches Creatives unite platform

The Creative FLIP project has launched Creatives unite, the platform mapping cultural and creative sector working conditions in the EU. This tool is a unique EU-wide knowledge resource providing concise and factual information and allowing for comparative mappings and issue-based analysis.

A look forward: Launching ERRIN reflections on regional dimension in R&I post-2027

Autumn 2023 marked the start of ERRIN’s targeted reflections on regional dimension in research and innovation in the new EU Multiannual Financial Framework post-2027, relating to the next EU Framework Programme for R&I (FP10) and future cohesion policy. We are offering a recap of our activities so far, first messages and planned next steps.

Call for Proposals FLIP (Finance, Learning, Innovation and Patenting) for Cultural and Creative Industries

The 2023 annual work programme for implementing the Creative Europe programme foresees the publication of a call for proposals with €1.05 million allocated to developing an action for cultural and creative sectors and industries. This call builds upon the European Parliament's pilot project results and the preparatory action FLIP (Finance, Learning, Innovation, and Patenting/IPR).

Call for digital tools for cultural heritage under the C4Education project

Within the framework of C4Education, a call for projects has been launched to populate the Virtual Lab for Digital Heritage Tools. The Creative Innovation Lab project is looking for digital cultural heritage apps with the prospect of economic and societal impact that are already developed and validated in relevant environments. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 31 January 2023.
