ERRIN’s Health Working Group (WG) supports members with early intelligence and regular updates about EU-level health policy-related issues, regulations, EU programmes and their funding opportunities. Creating opportunities for interregional cooperation in the Health area is one of the WG’s main objectives. On 20 March, the Commission published the first report on the state of play of the New European Innovation Agenda, following its launch in July 2022. The document outlines the progress and achievements with regard to the 25 actions under Agenda’s five flagships, including the Regional Innovation Valleys. On the same day, an EU R&I Days debate on the way forward for RIVs was also held.

The EU-funded project Health InnoFacilitator invites public procurers operational in the provisioning of health and social care to apply for the Call for Coaching Sessions to receive advice to facilitate the launch of future tenders to procure innovative solutions. Coaching will be given on either "Advise public buyers on the formulation of their needs" or "Advise public buyers on the PPI process". The deadline for application is 29 February.

The European Commission has launched the Knowledge Centre on Cancer, the first action delivered under Europe's Beating Cancer Plan. The knowledge centre is a new online platform to gather evidence and coordinate actions on cancer research and innovation.

The European Commission has adopted the main work programme of Horizon Europe for the period 2021-2022. The programme outlines the objectives and topic areas that will receive a share of €14.7 billion in funding.
The Health Working Group has prepared an open excel sheet for members to indicate their interest in the upcoming Horizon Europe calls in the field of health. The excel can be used for informal matchmaking but will also be used to guide any potential project facilitation in the frame of the Health Working Group.
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the European health data space. The consultation follows plans to better facilitate access and exchange of health data within the EU while making use of digital technologies and AI.
