ICT
The main objective of the ICT Work Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on ICTrelated initiatives and funding opportunities in relation to the European Commission’s policy priority “A Europe fit for the digital age”. Especially highlighting the regional dimension of the ICT-field, the WG aims to create opportunities for interregional cooperation in the field of ICT by linking with other areas and sectors such as smart cities, energy, transport, health or culture.

Workshop: DT4REGIONS and Living-in.EU Joint Capacity Building Programme
ERRIN's DT4REGIONS project and the Living-in.EU initiative are organising a joint interactive workshop to further scope the training needs of cities and regions in digital transformation. All officers, experts and policymakers working for European regions and cities and interested in applying digital transformation processes in their institutions are invited to join.
ICT and Smart Cities WGs meeting: Data legislation: Impact on cities and regions
The upcoming joint ICT and Smart Cities WGs meeting will provide a bird’s eye view of the current EU legislation in the field of data, with a focus on the recent Data Act proposal. Impact and possible ways forward for local and regional administrations will be showcased, together with concrete examples of relevant use cases.

European Commission launches the Harnessing Talent Platform- Call for Working Group Participation

The European Commission has just launched the Harnessing Talent Platform (HTP), a centralised online hub providing relevant information, knowledge, and assistance to help EU regions dealing with demographic challenges to attract, develop and retain talent. ERRIN Spring AGM 2023 – taking stock of the EU Missions
ERRIN’s Spring Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023 took place on 22 June this year. As always, it brought together the large and dynamic community of member regions and cities. Following the format part with the update from the network, the main focus was the EU Missions, approached in two policy debates, on the support and implementation frameworks in Adaptation, Ocean and Waters and Soil Missions, and the governance innovation and the perspective on Cities and the Cancer Missions.

Local Digital Twins toolbox project launches survey
The European Commission has recently launched a project to “Co-design the Local Digital Twins (LDT) toolbox technical specifications for advancing the transformation of Smart Communities”. To support the design process, they have launched a survey to gather insights. The deadline for the survey is 30 June at 23:59 CEST.

Public consultation on digitalising the energy sector open
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on digitalising the energy sector as part of the preparation of a Commission Action Plan on the Digitalisation of the energy system, due for publication in the first semester 2022. In line with EU ‘better regulation’ principles, the consultation will run until 24 January 2022.
