Getting zero-emission trucks on the road

A discussion on how what efforts can and must be made in order to decarbonise road freight will take place in Brussels next week. The all-day event will discuss the electrification of city deliveries and regional transport as well as alternative pays to power long-haul trucks. The Commission launches evaluation survey on the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive

The European Commission is conducting an evaluation of the Directive on the Deployment of Alternative Fuels Infrastructure 2014/94/EU (henceforth the Directive or AFID).   The Directive requires Member States to set up long-term National Policy Frameworks (NPFs) for the development of the market as concerns alternative fuels and the planning of the deployment of relevant alternative fuels infrastructure. EU Urban Road Safety Award

Applications will close later this month for the EU Urban Road Safety Award. The award celebrates and rewards local authorities for actions taken to improve road safety. Local authorities with outstanding innovation achievements that encourage the exchange of good practices across Europe are encouraged to apply. The award aims to recognise holistic efforts to tackle the fact that more than 50% of serious road injuries occur on urban roads.  Applications are open until 16th January 2020 - find more information and apply here.
