Bioeconomy
The Working Group focuses on increasing the influence of regions and their stakeholders in shaping the European circular bioeconomy while also focusing on the Horizon Europe Mission Soil. The group covers the bioeconomy in the widest sense, tackling issues related to topics such as food systems, soil health, forestry, bioenergy, biowaste, bio-based products, among other things. Seeing the growing role of the bioeconomy in decarbonisation efforts, the group also concentrates on the ecological sustainability of these solutions (e.g. nature-based solutions, green and blue solutions for carbon capture). The group develops contacts with European policymakers to increase cooperation and projects between European regions in bioeconomy, with a particular focus on Horizon Europe and the Circular Bio-based Europe Partnership.

'Together for EU Tourism' (T4T) stakeholder event and anniversary
In 2024, DG GROW will be celebrating the second anniversary of the Transition Pathway for Tourism. To mark this milestone, the Commission is organising a dedicated stakeholder event on 15 March 2024 (9:30-15:30 CET), reflecting on past achievements and future developments of the tourism ecosystem and showcasing inspiring pledges submitted by stakeholders.
International workshop on Emerging policy challenges on New SOil contaminants (ENSOr)
The 5th international edition of the ENSOR workshop will focus on the challenges related to diffuse soil pollution with emerging contaminants. This workshop will tackle questions about the impact of diffuse soil pollution on the reuse of excavated soil, on ground water supplies and food safety. It will also zoom into how to monitor and assess the risks, and the policies needed to tackle challenges such as diffuse pollution resulting from emissions from traffic, agricultural practices (e.g. fertilizers and plant protection products), discharges of WWTPs and floods.

The Slovenian Business & Research Association is hosting an event "Biodiversity and Marine Protection in EUSAIR: A contribution to EU biodiversity strategy 2030".The event will focus on biodiversity and marine protection set within the expansive scope of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR). Additionally, the event will present a tentative contribution to implementing the ambitious EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030.
HuMUS Call for Proposals - Online Info Day
The HuMUS project is organising an online info day about its cascade funding call 'Engage with and activate municipalities and regions to protect and restore soil health'. The online event will take place on 07 March 2024 from 10:30 CET.
2nd European Mission Forum
The second edition of the European Mission Forum, taking place on 7 March in Brussels and co-organised by the TRAMI project under the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU, will showcase EU Mission-related achievements and present outcomes of nearly 2 years of TRAMI project activities. ERRIN's director, Pirita Lindholm, will speak at the session on national, regional and European Mission Governance.

The WATERAGRI project is holding an event, Linking water & agriculture: science to policy, a mini-conference. The event will take place on 6 March from 08:30-16:00 and will discuss innovative methods for achieving a positive impact at farm level in the EU regarding water sustainability in agriculture.

Handbook on implementation and adoption barriers of urban living labs developing nature-based solutions
Developing Urban Living Labs is a relatively novel approach in urban areas, and consequently, there are many challenges and barriers that cities face during ULL adoption. This handbook, developed by the UNaLab project, aims to identify and explore some common barriers to the adoption of Urban Living Labs, and provide cities with a tool and an understanding of how to strategically address these barriers.

Spanish SME producer of fertilisers (Region of Murcia) is looking for a partner to apply to Eurostars-3 call. The aim of the project is to develop treatments based on the control and prevention of aphids, as well as viruses carried by them, in cucurbits. The partner sought should be a company with enough crops to test the developed products within the project.

Open Call: New European Bauhaus Booster 2.0 – deadline 13 March
On 16 January, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) published a call to support and help to foster the New European Bauhaus transformations. It targets European startups or scale-ups developing innovative solutions with deliberate consideration given to the NEB values. Successful applicants will be welcomed in the EIT Community NEB acceleration program that will be tailored to each company. The deadline for application is 13 March.
Pathways2Resilience Project
The Pathways2Resilence project, launched earlier this week, will empower at least 100 regions and communities in designing pathways and innovation agendas to become climate resilient by 2030.
Partner Search for Horizon Proposal HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-CITIES-01
Institute of Advance Architecture of Catalonia and Linköpings universitet have a consortium partially set up for horizon call HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-CITIES-01 'Demonstration of climate mitigation and resilience solutions in support of the implementation of the Adaptation to Climate Change and Cities Missions' and are looking for further cities to be involved.
