The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

Smart Tourism Destinations is a European Commission initiative to support EU cities to facilitate access to tourism and hospitality products and services through technological innovation. The initiative is hosting a series of webinars addressing a range of topics related to innovative digital solutions for tourism. the next one will take place on 17 November and will focus on the deployment of data management and technological solutions for innovation in smart destinations.
The Education for Climate Days 2022 will happen from the 7th to 9th of November this year. Under the theme of "co-creating learning for climate resilience", each day will focus on one key Education for Climate issue.
The Changemakers and Pioneers event, hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of the West of Scotland at Scotland House, Brussels is a unique opportunity to showcase projects, hear of others’ experiences and broker new partnerships. There will also be a specific session updating on the UK's association to Horizon Europe/Plan B as well as the latest funding opportunities.
This Design and Creativity Working Group meeting aims to present the newly announced KIC, to explore the soon-to-be available opportunities for regions and local stakeholders and how to get involved. The meeting will be held as an in-person event at ERRIN’s venue.
As part of the event series Brussels Talks, NCBR – Business & Science Poland are organising the online event 'How to be an innovative region in Europe?', with ERRIN director Pirita Lindholm as the main speaker. The event will discuss regional innovations ecosystems, how to support R&I capacities at local and regional level and how to reduce the innovation divide. Furthermore, the support offered by current EU funded programmes and initiatives will be explored.

With the European Heritage Stories, communities across the continent are invited to share their special stories about Europe’s cultural heritage. All of the stories that meet the eligibility criteria will be published as European Heritage Days Stories, promoted at European level, and receive a grant of up to €10,000. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2023.
On 16 January, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) published a call to support and help to foster the New European Bauhaus transformations. It targets European startups or scale-ups developing innovative solutions with deliberate consideration given to the NEB values. Successful applicants will be welcomed in the EIT Community NEB acceleration program that will be tailored to each company. The deadline for application is 13 March.
Two calls, one on Town Twinning and another on Networks of Towns, will open later this year. There will be an info day for each, om June and March respectively. Both calls aim to promote exchanges between citizens of different countries, to give them practical experience of the wealth and diversity of the common heritage of the Union and to make them aware that these constitute the foundation for a common future.
The City of Vincennes is leading a project on creative opportunities to revitalise heritage sites and is searching for an additional partner. The project: the creation of 3 video-mapping films of approximately 15 minutes which will then be projected on 3 heritage sites, in a setting chosen by the partner (specific event, already existing festival, etc.).
The Municipality of Koper from Slovenia is searching for a third “transfer partner” within their project L.I.B.E.R.T.A.S. (Lifelong Broad community participation for Energy efficient Reappropriation of cultural heritage Trough Active Social and cultural citizen Involvement) which will be submitted for the EUI-IA. If you are interested in becoming a partner, please Viktor Kovacic at viktor.kovacic@sbra.be ASAP and not later than 18/01/2023.

The CulturEU is a one-stop shop for EU funding and gathers a total of 75 funding opportunities from 21 different EU programmes, from Creative Europe and Horizon Europe to structural funds and InvestEU. The interactive online tool can direct any European cultural entity to the most appropriate EU financial support available to it.
