The main objective of the Energy & Climate Change Working Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on energy-related policies and funding programmes, especially looking at the Green Deal and REPowerEU, the Green Industrial Plan, the Hydrogen Valleys, the energy storage and batteries (with reference to S3 Partnership on batteries) and Horizon Europe.
The priority areas also feature climate change issues (such as climate adaptation), nature-based solutions and natural resources. The WG is set to explore links and synergies with other areas in which energy and climate change play central role and cooperate with other ERRIN Working Groups, namely the Transport, Smart Cities, SEFS and S3 Working Groups, as well as the ERRIN Task Forces on climate adaptation and on the New European Bauhaus.

Gothenburg European Office invites you to a webinar on nature pedagogy: Nature Pedagogics – Making the Green Deal Real by Starting Young. During the webinar will be explored how the cities of Lahti, Aalborg, and Gothenburg use nature pedagogics in their climate transition by highlighting the administrative framework and case studies used. Ulrike Pisiotis from the European Commission (Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture) will moderate the event.
Scotland House Brussels is organising the event 'The Edinburgh Declaration: The role of regional governments within the UN Convention on Biodiversity - COP15' for a celebration of regional and local action in the global fight against biodiversity loss. The Interreg MED Green Growth project, in which ERRIN is a partner, is organising its final event 'Boosting circular economy in the transition towards climate neutrality' in Brussels on 1 June. Taking place the day after the EU Green Week conference in Brussels, the event presents a perfect opportunity for participants to combine both events and to network with circular economy enthusiasts from across Europe.
The international conference "Improving air quality together" will be organised by the Emilia-Romagna Region on 31 May to present the main LIFE IP PrepAIR project’s achievements and results. The LIFE IP PrepAIR project aims to improve the air quality in the Po Valley, Northern Italy, and in Slovenia. Participation in the event is possible in person and online.
The EU Green Week 2022 will take place from 30 May to 5 June 2022 under the theme "European Green Deal - Make it Real", with the main conference planned in a hybrid format in Brussels on 30-31 May. A call for EU Green Week 2022 Partner Events is open until 15 April.

On 20 March, the Commission published the first report on the state of play of the New European Innovation Agenda, following its launch in July 2022. The document outlines the progress and achievements with regard to the 25 actions under Agenda’s five flagships, including the Regional Innovation Valleys. On the same day, an EU R&I Days debate on the way forward for RIVs was also held.
Interreg Europe's 3rd call for proposals, launched on 20 March, supports interregional cooperation projects addressing common regional development challenges. Organisations can use the ERRIN Project Development tool to express interest and find partners. The call is open until 7 June 2024.

During a dedicated session at the EU Research & Innovation Days, 23 new cities part of the EU Mission on 100 climate-neutral and smart cities were awarded the Mission Label for their plans to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. The RESIST project, launched last week, is a five-year EU-funded project coordinated by SINTEF in collaboration with INOVA+, which will support twelve regions across the EU in their efforts to build resilience against the impacts of climate change. ERRIN’s role in the project is to develop a Community of Practice and identify needs for a mutual-learning scheme. Following this, ERRIN will link LSD/Twinning regions with the wider Community of Interest.
The municipal housing company Degewo, majority owned by the State of Berlin, is looking for municipal housing companies that are active in circular construction and implementing circular economy approaches. Given that municipal housing companies face certain requirements and limitations compared to their privately owned counterparts, Degewo would like to exchange with and learn how others are approaching this topic.
Between 3 and 17 October, ERRIN members could put forward their candidatures for this year’s ERRIN Management Board elections. Five new Management Board members were selected and approved at the Autumn Annual General Meeting on 8 December.
