The goal of the NEB Task Force is to follow up the EU level developments of the initiative as well as showcase activities carried out on the local level to demonstrate concrete examples and results and build momentum towards a stronger NEB initiative. One of the main objectives of the task force is to develop members' understanding of the NEB initiative and, consequently, their capacity to maximise their engagement with it, particularly engaging their local ecosystems and building new collaborations. As a NEB partner, ERRIN aims to strengthen the policy dialogue with the EU institutions, with the NEB Taks Force driven by the most active members in the NEB topic.

The 2023 annual work programme for implementing the Creative Europe programme foresees the publication of a call for proposals with €1.05 million allocated to developing an action for cultural and creative sectors and industries. ERRIN members are invited to join the next NEB Task Force meeting, which will focus on the recently announced NEB Facility. The meeting will include the participation of the JRC, which will present the two components of the facility. It will allow members to provide direct feedback and inputs to support the shaping of the content and coherent planning of the Facility. The meeting will take place on 27 May.
Widening and deepening engagement in R&I has been one of ERRIN's priorities. This joint Policy and Smart Specialisation Working Groups meeting will concentrate on widening as one of the key issues to address in the FP10 debate, considering also its impact on cohesion policy post-2027.
