Representatives of Brussels-based offices leading the work of the Cultural Heritage & Tourism Working Group.
The Cultural Heritage and Tourism Working Group has two main lines of action: Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and the policies and actions that link the two areas. In this context, the WG investigates R&I-related measures to mitigate touristic flows' environmental and social impact and encourage the transition towards sustainable tourism and cultural policies and practices. To this end, the WG supports ERRIN members in the uptake of digital technologies and the development of skills/competences in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism sectors, facilitating exchanges of good practices and developing new projects.
Finally, the Working Group aims to provide early information to members on cultural heritage and tourism policy future strands, financial tools, inter-regional joint activities, EU calls, and disseminating open opportunities and results of key ongoing projects.

The ICT and CH&T WGs invite their members to the next meeting on Understanding the European Data Space for Cultural Heritage [and Cloud for Cultural Heritage TBC]. The event on the Via Querinissima project will be held on 29 March between 10:00 and 11:30 at the European Parliament. With the European Heritage Stories, communities across the continent are invited to share their special stories about Europe’s cultural heritage. All of the stories that meet the eligibility criteria will be published as European Heritage Days Stories, promoted at European level, and receive a grant of up to €10,000. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2023.
The City of Vincennes is leading a project on creative opportunities to revitalise heritage sites and is searching for an additional partner. The project: the creation of 3 video-mapping films of approximately 15 minutes which will then be projected on 3 heritage sites, in a setting chosen by the partner (specific event, already existing festival, etc.).

CHARTER Alliance publishes a new report mapping cultural heritage stakeholders, looking at cultural heritage as an economic sector and labour market with interacting stakeholders in anticipated roles, whose dynamics, skills and competencies will affect the quality of heritage as a resource and common good.

In anticipation of the launch of the “Implementing co-funded action plans for connected regional innovation valleys” HORIZON-EIE-2023-CONNECT-03-01 call for proposals on 17 May 2023, ERRIN opened a mapping of members’ interest in developing project proposals under this call, to facilitate consortium building. ERRIN members are encouraged to share their interest by filling in a short survey by 20 April.
Małopolska Region is looking for partners for the project "OpenRegioCulture" within Interreg Europe Programme (second call).
ERRIN invites its members to take part in the survey on Research and Innovations Gaps in circular economy, which is part of Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) of the European Commission (DG Research and Innovation). Local and regional policymakers, researchers from academia and industry can share their inputs by 14 April 2023.
Applications for the Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism Awards 2023 are now open! The theme of the 2023 edition is “Smart Tourism – Smart Destinations: Cultural Heritage & Creativity, Digitalisation, Sustainability”. The Awards will be given to cultural tourist destinations that have produced significant results, such as enhancing the visitor experience, respecting traditions and involving local communities. The deadline for applications is 1 June 2023.
The SEFS Working Group is looking for regional best practices in the field of Evidence based and evidence informed policy making. The meeting will take place on 20 April (10:00-12.00 CEST) and will be organised as an online event.
