26 additional cities selected to join the NetZeroCities Pilot Cities Programme

The NetZeroCities project, in which ERRIN is a partner, has selected 26 additional cities from 16 countries to take part in its Pilot Cities Programme.

ERRIN is delighted to note that 12 cities from ERRIN member regions have been chosen, including Riga and Lyon, both supported by ERRIN’s NetZeroCities Climate Neutral Cities Advisors.

ERRIN plays a key role in NetZeroCities by leading efforts in strategic partnerships and policy innovation and with dedicated Climate Neutral Cities Advisors, who provide essential assistance to citiesClimate City Contract process. Learn more about ERRIN’s commitment to the Cities Mission here.

These 26 cities will join the already selected 53 Pilot Cities in experimenting with new ways to rapidly decarbonise over the course of a two-year programme. Tailored support, funding and expertise will empower them to devise innovative systemic solutions across emission sectors, driving forward their climate transition.

Cities that were not selected as Pilot Cities at this stage will have other ways to engage, including the twinning and teaming programme that will start shortly. The third and final call for Mission Cities to participate in the Pilot Cities Programme is currently open until 18 March 2024.
