EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change
The Climate Adaptation Task Force builds on previous ERRIN's work around the EU Mission on Adaptation. ERRIN has followed the Mission closely and contributed to its shaping and implementation through the development of input papers, organisation of events and discussions with the Mission Secretariat. ERRIN became a Friend of the Mission in 2022, alongside 130 of its member cities and regions, and provided input on the Mission Charter
Adaptation Task Force
The Climate Adaptation Task Force drives and structures ERRIN's work on Mission Adaptation - building on ERRIN’s previous activities whilst engaging members in current opportunities and activities under the Mission. Further, the Task Force supports in steering the work of ERRIN's Mission Adaptation projects, while also addressing topics relevant to the local and regional implementation of the Mission.

European Research and Innovation Days (R&I Days) 2024
The European Commission’s annual flagship research and innovation event will take place on 20 and 21 March 2024, both physically in Brussels and online. The R&I Days 2024 will give you the opportunity to debate how we can make Europe more sustainable and competitive and will celebrate the outcomes and achievements in research and innovation since the launch of the first R&I Framework Programme over 40 years ago.
Pathways2Resilience Call Information Session
Following the extension of the Pathways2Resilience First Call for Regions and Communities, another information session is being held on 19 March from 13:00-14:00. This first call will provide 40 regions and communities with financial support of up to €210,000 to help regions design their pathway to climate resilience. It will also include a range of services and capacity-building activities for subgrants lasting up to 18 months. The deadline for applications is 12:00 CEST on 6 May 2024.
ERRIN R&I Days networking reception
On the occasion of the European R&I Week, we would like to warmly invite you to a networking reception on 19 March from 18:00-20:30 at the ERRIN premises in Brussels (Rue du Luxembourg 3). On the eve of the EU R&I Days 2024, ERRIN wishes to bring together local and regional R&I enthusiasts from our community across Europe to meet up and discuss the way forward with the EU R&I policy and funding.
10th European Summit of Regions and Cities - Mons 2024
For its 10th edition, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the European Committee of the Regions, the Summit will tackle topics at the heart of regions and cities' concerns, such as democracy, sustainable development, the future of the European Union and its enlargement, the need to ensure social, economic and territorial cohesion, as well as dealing with the consequences of the war against Ukraine. Global challenges will be addressed by bringing together different perspectives from across the world.
Biodiversity and Marine Protection in EUSAIR: A Contribution to EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030
The Slovenian Business & Research Association is hosting an event "Biodiversity and Marine Protection in EUSAIR: A contribution to EU biodiversity strategy 2030".The event will focus on biodiversity and marine protection set within the expansive scope of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR). Additionally, the event will present a tentative contribution to implementing the ambitious EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030.

HuMUS Project selected 20 local and regional soil health pilots
The HuMUS project has selected the 20 local and regional soil health pilots, including 10 located in ERRIN member regions, that will be supported to enhance participatory methods and tools for soil quality and health governance. The results of the calls were announced for the first time during ERRIN’s Bioeconomy WG meeting on the 'Mission Soil: lessons learned and upcoming opportunities'. ERRIN at the Cities Mission Conference and EURESFO 2024
This year, the Cities Mission Conference will take place in Valencia, Spain, on 25-26 June. ERRIN will participate in the conference as a partner in the NetZeroCities project, which manages the Cities Mission Platform. As the event is partly organised in collaboration with the European Urban Resilience Forum this year, ERRIN will also be there to promote its two Mission Adaptation projects: RESIST and Pathways2Resilience.

ERRIN two-page input on FP10 for the attention of the Expert Group
As the work towards the next EU Framework Programme for R&I (FP10) continues, ERRIN is pleased to share its two-page input for the attention of the Expert Group on the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe. The document is a concise compilation of the reflections on FP10 done at ERRIN so far, highlighting topics of key importance. Work on a series of broader input papers is underway.
ERRIN is looking for a Head of projects - Extended Deadline
In view of the upcoming departure of ERRIN's current Director of projects, Ryan Titley, ERRIN is looking for a replacement to start in September 2024. The new colleague will work closely with the ERRIN Director on strategic planning, and lead the implementation and development of ERRIN's current and future project portfolio. Southwest Finland searching consortium for Interreg Europe: Collaborative Initiative for Sustainable Municipal Forest Management
The Region of Southwest Finland is looking for a consortium to join linked to the topic of promoting sustainable management of municipal forests. The Smart Cities and Bioeconomy Working Groups are looking for examples of innovative solutions for greening cities, to be presented in an upcoming meeting on the Nature Restoration Law on 26 October. The aim of the meeting is to jointly explore innovative solutions that can help cities to fulfil the restoration requirements for urban ecosystems presented by the new law. The deadline for submitting examples is 26 September.

All ERRIN members are invited to save the date for the ERRIN Extraordinary General Meeting, which will take place on 16 November 2023 in the ERRIN premises. The meeting is organised to make the necessary changes to the ERRIN Articles of Association and a minimum of 2/3 of the ERRIN members must be represented.
