Health
ERRIN’s Health Working Group (WG) supports members with early intelligence and regular updates about EU-level health policy-related issues, regulations, EU programmes and their funding opportunities. Creating opportunities for interregional cooperation in the Health area is one of the WG’s main objectives. The WG is also a vehicle for networking, profile raising and promoting good practices and projects among health stakeholders in the ERRIN regions.

Science Café: Gene editing & Nanorobots
The next Science Café event will discuss Gene Editing & Nanorobots. Scientist Alžběta Ressnerová from CEITEC will share insights on nanorobots for biological applications. This event will take place on 30 November from 18:30-20:30 at Prague House, Brussels.
Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) Annual Conference
The Annual Conference of the European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) will be held on 30 November in a hybrid format. THCS is a Cofund action under the Horizon Europe Programme designed to support coordinated national and regional research and innovation programmes along with capacity building, networking, dissemination and other key activities to support health and care systems transformation.
One Health Fair
The UK Mission to the EU invites you to an interactive One Health Fair in collaboration with over 15 expert partners, including those representing UK member regions of ERRIN. The event will take place on 22 November from 17:00-21:00 at the British Residence, Rue Ducale 17, Brussels.

ERRIN Paper Series: Towards the 10th Framework Programme - EU Missions
ERRIN is pleased to launch a series of input papers on the 10th Framework Programme, with this paper focusing on EU Missions. ERRIN has been closely involved in the design and implementation of the EU Missions since their inception, making them a priority for the network. This input paper on the role of EU Missions in FP10 has been created with contributions from ERRIN members and their ecosystems.
3rd REINFORCING Open Call on EU Missions
The REINFORCING project has opened a call to support organisations and territories that actively contribute to the EU Missions by engaging relevant stakeholders, including citizens, in the R&I process and/or policies connected to one of the Missions. Successful proposals will receive up to 60,000 euros to implement a 12-month project. The deadline for submitting proposals is 26 September 2024.
ERRIN two-pager for European decision-makers
ERRIN is pleased to share a two-pager for the incoming European decision-makers, aiming to present the network and our value to the new MEPs, raising a voice for the importance of place-based R&I in the changing landscape. We encourage all ERRIN members to share the document with their MEPs to introduce ERRIN and the value of place-based R&I.
Over 70 ERRIN member regions announced as Regional Innovation Valleys
On 19 June, the Commission announced the 151 regions identified as Regional Innovation Valleys following the call for EoI and calls for proposals in 2023. 75 successful regions come from ERRIN members. RIVs will aim to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystems, bridge the innovation gap and improve Europe's overall innovation performance. New calls for proposals under Horizon Europe are expected in 2025.
ERRIN two-page input on FP10 for the attention of the Expert Group
As the work towards the next EU Framework Programme for R&I (FP10) continues, ERRIN is pleased to share its two-page input for the attention of the Expert Group on the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe. The document is a concise compilation of the reflections on FP10 done at ERRIN so far, highlighting topics of key importance. Work on a series of broader input papers is underway.

Rural areas face significant healthcare challenges. An aging population, a shortage of professionals, and geographic dispersion make it difficult to provide adequate care for chronic diseases. This leads to health inequalities between rural and urban populations and negatively impacts socioeconomic development. The H-ARPA project proposes a healthcare model that integrates technological solutions to improve access, continuity of care, early detection of complications, and the quality of care for people with chronic diseases in rural settings. SeniorForm - a new online exercise program for seniors owned by John Nørgaard from SonoKids Denmark and Viggo Steincke, Steincke Soundlab in partnership with attached a number of resource persons: Physiotherapists, nursing home managers, and health professionals. https://seniorform.dk/ SeniorForm is aimed at older people in their own homes, nursing homes and activity centers. The program helps to keep users self-sufficient by keeping the body supple. Hereby, Erasmus+ project through cross-collaboration with elderly nursing homes, health and education institutions, associations want to contribute to The HealthyLifestyle4All Initiative and create a cross-country platform supporting and promoting a healthy lifestyle, movement, and sport for the elderly in nursing homes.

European Commission publishes Horizon Europe Work Programme for EU Missions
The European Commission has published the Horizon Europe Work Programme for 2021-2022, including the Work Programme for the five EU Missions. As a result of a budget increase, 19 new calls dedicated to the roll-out of the EU Missions have been announced.
