ERRIN’s Health Working Group (WG) supports members with early intelligence and regular updates about EU-level health policy-related issues, regulations, EU programmes and their funding opportunities. Creating opportunities for interregional cooperation in the Health area is one of the WG’s main objectives. The ERRIN Secretariat is pleased to invite you to the upcoming virtual ERRIN Intro Coffee, aiming to offer a concise introduction to ERRIN and its services, as well as encourage networking between members. The meeting is directed mainly towards new ERRIN members and colleagues, but all interested members are welcome to participate.
This all-day kick off meeting will include introductions from DG SANTE and HaDEA, as the joint action prepares to strengthen cooperation between EU countries and the Commission in regards to tobacco control.

ERRIN's Autumn Annual General Meeting will take place this year on 9 December at 14:30-17:00 CET. In addition to offering highlights from 2021 and an outlook for 2022, the Autumn AGM will be an opportunity to continue ERRIN’s 20th-anniversary celebrations.

Further to the Health WG meeting on the Cancer Mission, EUREGHA and ERRIN have decided to address the Cancer Mission Board with a statement to emphasise the role of regions in this mission.
The MISTLETOE (iMprovIng acceSs To paLliative care for pEople wiThOut cancer) proposal aims at developing a systems level multidimensional person-centred palliative care intervention at the interface between specialist and community/primary care for people without cancer and their care partners and formal care givers, by combining established evidence-based collaborative, fundamental nursing and specialist person-centred clinical and psychosocial palliative care models.
DG SANTE has launched a 'have your say' call for evidence on the Commission Communication 'A comprehensive approach to mental health', that is expected in Q2 this year. The call for evidence closes on 15 February 2023.
Digital Europe programme's call on Advanced Digital Skills 'Specialised education programmes or modules in key capacity areas' is open until 24 January 2023. With a budget of €56m, HaDEA will be funding education programmes in digitaltech, jointly designed by universities, research centres & businesses.
Between 3 and 17 October, ERRIN members could put forward their candidatures for this year’s ERRIN Management Board elections. Five new Management Board members were selected and approved at the Autumn Annual General Meeting on 8 December.
The Horizon Europe work programme 2023-24 has been adopted by the European Commission.
On 2 December, the Council adopted the conclusions on the New European Innovation Agenda. We have collected some key points highlighted by the Council and ERRIN remarks on the document. The CoR opinion on the same topic, to which ERRIN provided comments, was also adopted on 1 December.
A compromise between the Council Presidency and the European Parliament has been reached regarding the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). As a result, Horizon Europe, EU4Health, Erasmus+ and other key programmes will receive a €15 billion boost.
To start planning the activities in the WGs for 2021, the WG leaders will meet according to the clusters to discuss the policy context, project development, and possible topics for the year ahead. All members are encouraged to feed in ideas.
Every year ERRIN holds elections for the Management Board. You can put forward your candidature for this year’s elections until 26 October.
