ERRIN’s Health Working Group (WG) supports members with early intelligence and regular updates about EU-level health policy-related issues, regulations, EU programmes and their funding opportunities. Creating opportunities for interregional cooperation in the Health area is one of the WG’s main objectives. The WG is also a vehicle for networking, profile raising and promoting good practices and projects among health stakeholders in the ERRIN regions.

As part of the event series Brussels Talks, NCBR – Business & Science Poland are organising the online event 'How to be an innovative region in Europe?', with ERRIN director Pirita Lindholm as the main speaker. The event will discuss regional innovations ecosystems, how to support R&I capacities at local and regional level and how to reduce the innovation divide. Furthermore, the support offered by current EU funded programmes and initiatives will be explored.
The TRAMI project and ERRIN are organising a mutual learning event on 18 October. The event will aim to showcase a successful translation of the EU Missions approach into concrete policies and tools on the regional level and to foster the discussion on challenges and opportunities with its implementation.
A European project development workshop is planned in Nantes, Pays de la Loire, on the 3rd of October in order to discuss upcoming Horizon Europe opportunities linked to nutrition, food, feed, and health (cluster 1 and 6). The workshop will take place ahead of the Nutrevent conference (4-5th October).
The European Research and Innovation Days (RiDaysEU) is the European Commission’s annual flagship Research and Innovation event. This year’s edition will take place online on 28 – 29 September.
EU Digital Health Tech & Innovation Conference will take place in person on 27 September in Brussels. The objective of the conference is to present the latest EU policies, initiatives and trends in digital health, present funding opportunities for digital health projects, as well as showcase innovative business models from organizing countries.

The MISTLETOE (iMprovIng acceSs To paLliative care for pEople wiThOut cancer) proposal aims at developing a systems level multidimensional person-centred palliative care intervention at the interface between specialist and community/primary care for people without cancer and their care partners and formal care givers, by combining established evidence-based collaborative, fundamental nursing and specialist person-centred clinical and psychosocial palliative care models.
DG SANTE has launched a 'have your say' call for evidence on the Commission Communication 'A comprehensive approach to mental health', that is expected in Q2 this year. The call for evidence closes on 15 February 2023.
Digital Europe programme's call on Advanced Digital Skills 'Specialised education programmes or modules in key capacity areas' is open until 24 January 2023. With a budget of €56m, HaDEA will be funding education programmes in digitaltech, jointly designed by universities, research centres & businesses.

On 2 December, the Council adopted the conclusions on the New European Innovation Agenda. We have collected some key points highlighted by the Council and ERRIN remarks on the document. The CoR opinion on the same topic, to which ERRIN provided comments, was also adopted on 1 December.

This year, nine EU regions, of who six are ERRIN members, joined forces with the aim to improve active and healthy ageing through the ITHACA project (Interreg Europe programme). The project looks at each region’s policy efforts and scale-up practices of innovative solutions in order to find points of improvement.
ERRIN is looking for ‘mirror regions’ for the recently launched European project inDemand. InDemand is a new model where healthcare organisations and companies co-create digital health solutions, with the economic support of public regional funds. Why is this model innovative? inDemand applies at the same time demand-driven and co-creation approaches.
The WE4AHA Project is now launching its first communication campaign! The topic of the campaign is the Public Consultation entitled “Transformation of Health and Care in the Digital Single Market”, which was recently launched by the European Commission.
